Plan being drawn up to save the River Suir in Thurles

It stems from concerns raised last year by local Cllr Jim Ryan who declared at the time that ”the river is dead”.

It was confirmed by the Local Authority Water Programme that the river was in an appalling condition in the area.

LAWPRO are now working with the Tipperary County Council to finalise a plan to bring all the local stakeholders together to address the issues affecting the water-quality.

Cllr Ryan says he’s delighted to see progress being made in developing a strategy to turn it around.
