Tom Acheson says the Independent TD for Tipperary South ‘went on a rampage’ against the town when he was speaking in Leinster house recently.
Deputy McGrath told the Dáil that Clonmel was in dire straits and needed a taskforce to tackle dereliction and anti-social behaviour.

Cllr Acheson says things aren’t as bad as the picture he painted despite the struggles of local retailers to compete with online shopping.
The Fine Gael representative says local politicians should be promoting Clonmel and not criticising the town.
Cllr Acheson says he’s aware that some businesses are struggling in the current climate but he’s insisting that Clonmel has a lot going for it.
