Local Authority not contesting Judicial Review on Dundrum House decision

Tipperary County Council will not be contesting a Judicial Review taken against the granting of a Section 5 Declaration for Dundrum House.

Dundrum Heritage Group had been granted leave to pursue the review in a bid to quash the Section 5 which had cleared the way for 277 International Protection Applicants to be housed in the West Tipp property.

Part of their reason to seek the review was that the site was not planning compliant at the time the Section 5 was issued, and therefore the declaration was invalid.

Tipperary County Council has now opted not to contest the case and will also pay the costs incurred by Dundrum Heritage Group.
