Leahy not backing down on LPT stance

A Tipp Town based County Councillor has defended his decision not to support a 10% increase in the Local Property Tax.

Independent representative Denis Leahy felt not enough money was coming to the town to justify the hike which was ultimately passed by the majority of Councillors.

His stance came in for criticism from Fine Gael’s Michael Fitzgerald who said Councillor Leahy had previously rejected funds for the area.

However Denis Leahy is standing by his decision.
