Hopes of increased funding for Council 9 to 9 service

Tipperary County Council has applied for funding to expand their 9 to 9 service.

At the moment the local authority provides emergency overnight accommodation for homeless people who face sleeping rough on the streets.

The council has three “Own Front Door” properties in Clonmel which are accessible from 9pm to 9am.

Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Siobhan Ambrose says while it’s a very good service there is a gap which needs to be addressed.

She says those availing of the service have no place to shelter during the day.
