Controversial plans for a solar farm on a 130 acre site near Cashel have been granted conditional planning permission.
Over 340 submissions were received by Tipperary County Council in relation to the proposals from Power Capital for the development in Dualla.
As well as opposition from local residents submissions were also made by a number of elected representatives including County Councillor’s and TDs.
They sought a 10 year permission for the construction of the solar PV development with an operational lifespan of 40 years.
The planning application was lodged over a year ago for four separate parcels of land with further information sought by the local authority in April.
Tipperary County Council has now granted permission for the solar farm.
