Councillor Peggy Ryan has been elected Cathaoirleach of the Thurles Municipal District.

The Fine Gael representative was proposed by Councillor Willie Kennedy and seconded by Sean Ryan at today’s Annual Meeting of the District.

The Drombane woman takes over the chair from Fianna Fáil’s Michael Smith.

Independent Eddie Moran will serve as Vice-Chair for the coming year.
