Tom Acheson has been selected as Fine Gael’s replacement for newly elected TD Michael Murphy’s seat on Tipperary County Council.
Party members from the Clonmel Borough District chose him over Joe Leahy and Brid Green in a selection convention at Raheen House last night.

Over the weekend Fianna Fail choose new Tipp North TD Ryan O’Meara’s brother JP to fill his seat.
Both will be co-opted onto the council at a special meeting of the local authority om Thursday.
