Designs have been drawn up for the proposed new Clonmel Library

The project has been approved by Councillor to go ahead to the formal planning stage which will include public consultation over the next few months.

The build will take up to three years once planning is completed by the local authority has already secured €3 million in funding to go towards the cost.

Tipperary County Librarian Damien Dullaghan says the design team has done a fantastic job and he expects it to have a huge impact on the centre of town.

Locals will get to see the plans soon and have their say on them.
