All five Municipal Districts across Tipperary have approved their draft budgets for next year – but not without considerable concerns being raised.
The amount of the General Municipal allocation was questioned and opposed in Clonmel last week.
However the GMA figures for each district go up by over 40% for next year after the council agreed to raise the Local Property Tax by the maximum 15% over the national base rate.
Cllrs in Carrick on Suir raised significant worries about whether the 2025 Budget will be enough to fund their services.
Cathaoirleach of the Tipperary-Cahir-Cashel District John Crosse led a chorus of discontent from his fellow members.
He says he fears that even if there’s a small increase in the Budget that it can’t match rising costs.
