Tipperary County Council road crews will be working to clear snow from main routes across the Premier today.
Caution is still being advised on all roads as heavy snowfall over the weekend has been followed by freezing temperatures overnight.
The local authority has been salting in the region of 1,100 kilometres of Primary, Secondary and Regional roads – however frozen snow has impacted on the effectiveness of this.
Senior Engineer Jame Murray told Tipp Today earlier that they will endeavour to clear the snow today.
“We have this opportunity to clean the salted network over the next couple of hours. That will be critical really for the rest of the week.
“We’ll have to move on then to the local roads which are going to be a challenge to clear but I’d say lots of rural communities the bigger farm machinery can do a good job in opening some of those routes as well.”
