Council delegation to meet with Minister on IPAS situation

A delegation of Tipperary County Councillors is being sent to Dublin to meet Ministers and discuss the creation of an IPAS centre at Dundrum House.

Members decided the move at the meeting of the Tipperary-Cahir-Cashel Municipal District yesterday.

Independent Liam Browne had originally proposed the motion in the wake of the decision to sign contracts with a Spanish company to house asylum seekers at the landmark local hotel.

He’s also demanding that a taskforce be set up to make sure there are adequate services in the area for locals and refugees who move in.
