Tipperary’s two newest local representatives have been officially co-opted onto the County Council.
Former Cllr Tom Acheson was formally proposed by Fine Gael’s John Fitzgerald at a special meeting of the local authority in the Chamber in Clonmel.
His nomination under section 19 of the Local Govt Act 2001 was seconded by Marie Murphy and he’s now taken the seat of Michael Murphy who spent his first day as a TD in the Dail yesterday.
JP O’Meara was proposed and seconded by Fianna Fail Deputy Whip Micheál Anglim and Cllr Roger Kennedy respectively.
He was at Leinster House to witness his brother Ryan’s name being read into the Dail register and says the two first days have been very emotional.
