Tipperary County Council praised for efficiency in bringing vacant social homes back into use

Tipperary County Council has returned more than 1,100 vacant social homes back into use between 2014 and 2024.

88 local authority houses were brought back into active use in the Premier County last year under the Voids Programme.

The Housing Minister says the fact that the overall voids figure of 88 for 2024 is slightly lower than the 100 recorded in 2023 is actually a positive sign

James Browne says the council’s shifted towards a planned maintenance model which leads to quicker repairs, continuous use, and faster re-letting of social homes.
