80 thousand euro has been granted by the Department of Transport for the structures in Bansha, Monard and Limerick Junction.

There has been a long running campaign to get the shelters in the villages for several months….in particular for Bansha where, since the closure of the Post Office in the west Tipp village, social welfare recipients and old age pensioners have had to travel to Tipp Town to collect their payments…with no cover from the weather.

Local Independent Councillor Denis Leahy is delighted at the news and says they should be built fairly fast.
