An agricultural source in Tipperary is being described as the most likely cause of pollution to the river that has killed trout and salmon.
The local authority is monitoring the incident on the Drumcamogue river near Knocklong along with Inland Fisheries Ireland, but it believed that an extensive number of trout and salmon may have been killed.

Limerick City and County Council is working with Tipperary County Council and Inland Fisheries Ireland to identify the source.
The local authorities have emphasised that there is no risk to the public water supply.
