Tipp school scoops tech award

Junior Infants at Lackammore National School in Newport won the Special Award at the Scratch competition in Dublin for their entry “Avoid the Planet”.

Scratch is a visual programming language that makes it easy for young people to create their own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art – and then share them on the web.

Meanwhile Surge Racing of Gaelcholaiste Cheitinn, Clonmel scooped two top prizes at the Tech Week 2015 F1 in schools competition. 

Competing against 23 Surge Racing picked up the award for Best Team Website and were also placed third in the overall Senior Cycle category.
