Provisional figures for road deaths from the Gardaí show that apart from Dublin, where 16 people have been killed on the road, Tipperary has the next highest tally with 13 lives lost so far this year.
The county breakdown of the road deaths show there's been 4 fatalities in the Clonmel district, 4 in Nenagh, 2 in both Thurles and Tipperary Town and 1 in the Cahir Garda district.
At 13, the number of deaths in the county this year has already surpassed the total for last year when 12 people lost their lives on the roads in Tipperary.
The very young and the elderly account for the majority of fatalities on the county’s roads.
The entire South East region figure, which includes the Premier County, stands at 25 deaths up to the 1st of September this year.

Cavan, Leitrim, Louth and Kildare have recorded no road fatalities this year.
