Speaking on Tipp Today Deputy Coonan stated that a “when you look at what Martin Callinan did for the Garda College at Templemore and for the gardai across the country in difficult times and through difficult budgets, what you have is a good man hounded out of office”
The Fine Gael TD also stated that “one of those whistleblowers came to me personally himself to speak about his problems and difficulties and I asked him what you want, what do you really want? And his response to me was he wanted Shatter’s head on a plate, his interests were political at the time and wanted a head on the plate.
