Tipp farmers warned of scam over bogus sheds

Date:

Share:

More than 30 farmers nationwide have been duped into forking out anything from €1,000 and €20,000 as a deposit for a farm shed, that either never arrived or was the incorrect spec when it did.

The victims are then unable to make contact with the sales person they dealt with and are left seriously out of pocket by the fraud.

Deputy Editor of the Farmers Journal Catriona Murphy – who has been writing about the scam in this week's edition of the paper is urging people to double and triple check the identity of such sales people before handing over any monies
