Tipp County Council’s IT security comes under microscope

€4.3m was wrongly transferred to an account that was traced to Hong Kong.

It's believed that the culprits passed themselves off as the council CEO.

In light of this the council here is being asked for  re-assurances that a similar cyber attack couldn't happen in Tipp.

While accepting the local authority can't give a 100 percent guarantee Fine Gael Councillor Michael Murphy is happy IT security is constantly reviewed.
