Tipp councillor critical of Local Government reform.

A South Tipperary Councillor has launched a stinging attack against Phil Hogan, over his plans for Local Government changes.

Under the plans announced this week Borough and  Town Councils in Clonmel will be abolished while the merger of North and South Tipp County Councils will go ahead.

But Councillor Richie Molloy criticised the Ministers description of the move as putting people first.

He says the move will in fact do the opposite by costing jobs in the public service while also not giving a voice to people at a local level.
