The March for Tipp group have been complimented on highlighting issues affecting Tipperary town.
Fine Gael Councillor Michael Fitzgerald says more people have been shopping locally as a result of the marches.
A number of new shops have opened in recent weeks and stalwart store Wellworths also re-opened following a short closure in October.
He says the protest marches woke a lot of people up.
