Tipperary students are being praised after a top four finish in the all-island Concern Debates contest which had over 150 teams competing.
The Thurles based Ursuline Secondary School were runners-up in a semi-final at Ireland’s largest school debating competition .
Rosie Bradish, Lily Murphy, Bibi Russell, Cait Browne – opposed the motion about the effectiveness of the United Nations at the debate in Dublin.
They lost out to against Limerick’s Laurel Hill Secondary School who will face Dublin’s Sandford Park in the final next month.
Concern Debates is an all-island education programme for school teams who debate world issues like poverty and climate change.
