Tipperary has been included in a new 2 million Euro investment by the government to help children in disadvantaged schools.

The School Excellence Fund teaches life skills alongside the usual subjects and tries to keep pupils in full time education for as long as possible.

Three Clonmel schools are included – one post-primary and two primary.

Education Minister Richard Bruton says it aims to tackle educational disadvantage.
