Tipp hospital among most overcowded

There are 37 patients without a bed at South Tipp General Hospital this afternoon.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 17 of these are on trolleys in corridors around the Emergency Department.

20 more are being cared for in overflow areas of already full wards.

University Hospital Limerick – which caters for North Tipp patients – is the busiest in the country today with 38 patients waiting for a bed.

Overall there are nearly 400 people in a similar situation at hospitals across the country.
