Further Tipp garda searches under Operation Thor

Operation Thor is in full force across the Premier this weekend as gardai crackdown on crime and criminals.

It coincides with an already increased officer presence on the road for the Bank Holiday and motorists are being warned to expect to meet checkpoints any hour of the day or night.

Multiple checks have already been held in the past 24/7 from Roscrea down to Carrick on both minor and main routes as gardai test for drink and drug driving/ speeding and a failure to have valid NCT tax or insurance.

Under Operation Thor there have been dozens of arrests over a vaqriety of crimes, several court appearances and drugs and property recovered.
