Video: Tipp FM Toy Appeal has surpassed all expectations

The inaugural Tipp FM Toy Appeal has surpassed all expectations.

The station joined forces with St Vincent de Paul and its conferences around the county in an effort to ensure every child in Tipperary will be smiling this Christmas.

Tipp FM General Manager Susan Murphy said she was amazed at the response and that we cannot thank the people of Tipperary enough.

She said: ‘When you think of children you think of Christmas – they go hand-in-hand. Tipp FM is very mindful that there are a lot of people are doing well at the moment which is fantastic but there are a lot of people who are dealing with poverty. As a result of the on-air appeal every single child that needs a toy will get something this Christmas and its all down to the people of the Premier County’.

FM thanks the many businesses who contributed together with nearly 20 collection points spread across the length and breadth of the county.

An amazing mix of toys covering all age groups, from infants to 15 and 16 year olds was donated – a cross section of these toys will be sent to St Vincent de Paul groups across Tipperary

The toy appeal has also united the county – there was no ‘North and South’ in this initiative, with donations coming in from North, South, East and West.

Tipperary has proved, while it is a big county, it is also big in its generosity of spirit and the people of the county should be very proud of what has been achieved through the Tipp FM Toy Appeal.
