Tipp Families Torn Apart by lack of school places

A Tipperary parent says that families are being torn apart by the Government’s inaction in sourcing school places for children with special needs.

A number of protests took place across the Country over the weekend, led by parents to urge the Department of Education to implement immediate measures to address the shortage of places.

Despite the fact that new classes were announced for 5 schools in Tipperary in recent days, many families are struggling to source school places for their children.

Speaking to Tipp Today this morning, Tina described how she has been told by 5 schools that there is no place for her son Michael.

She says that the lack of a school place will be detrimental for Michael
