Tipp couple awarded for raising over €14,000 for charity

A Tipperary couple has received an award from Concern for their fundraising efforts.

Tom and June Williams from Cloughjordan were among 24 people honoured at an award ceremony hosted by the humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide.

Tom, who used to perform in the popular Majorca Showband in the 1960s and who still sings for his local choir – and his wife June – raised over €14,000 from Church gate collections alone.

They’ve been awarded medals for their “outstanding commitment” at a ceremony in Dublin.
