Tipp council efforts to tackle littering given boost

Tipperary County Council’s efforts to tackle littering have been given a boost.

Environment Minister Denis Naughten has approved funding for local authorities across the country.

Under the Anti-Litter and Anti-Graffiti Awareness Grant Scheme Tipperary County Council will have 42,000 Euro to carry out public awareness and education campaigns.

These will target litter, dog fouling and graffiti.

In all 884,000 has been allocated nationally this year bringing to nearly 15 million the total grants provided under the scheme in the last 10 years.
