Tipp carers provide 250 thousand hours of care per week

Carers in Tipperary provide more than 250 thousand hours of care per week – figures released by the Central Statistics Office show.

The last census was the first time in which the public were questioned on whether they cared for a friend or family member and how many hours they provided per week.

The statistics found that carers provide an average of 42.1 hours per week – additional to HSE provided care in some cases.
