Thurles mayor feels town portrayed unfairly in TV programme

The Mayor of Thurles feels the Mid Tipp town was unfairly portrayed in an RTE programme which featured well known playright and columnist Fiona Looney.

Its all part of a series where four artists move to a particular area and then seek inspiration from that town for a new play – some of the scenes last night featured, shut up shops, the long since closed down suger factory and a pavement littered with dog fouling….

Mayor Michael Grogran says that the programme painted the town in a bad light and could be damaging to tourism.
