Thurles man nominated for Community Champio

A Tipperary man is appealing for support as he aims to be crowned Community Champion.

Billy Shanahan has been shortlisted as the Tipperary nominee for the Community Champion Initiative, launched by Calor.

Billy has a serious visual impairment, but to date has raised in excess of €600,000 for charity and has worked tirelessly for people with visual impairment in Thurles for almost 20 years.

The winner of this years competition, recieves a €1,500 cash prize, as well as a €7,500 bursary for the charity of their choice.

Voting is open to the public on the Calor Facebook page, and people are asked to support Billy.
