Thurles Bridge has been labelled ‘an embarrassment’ at this months meeting of Tipperary County Council.
Councillor David Doran asked the council to request an urgent meeting with Transport Infastructure Ireland to discuss the ‘deplorable’ condition of the roads and footpaths in the Premier County.
The local authority have agreed to meet with Transport Infrastructure Ireland later this month, however local councillors will not be permitted to attend the meeting.
Cllr Doran says that the council are left ‘wide open’ for injury claims as a result of failing to make timely repairs to footpaths in the county.
He says that the bridge in Thurles is ‘inexcusable’:
