Threefold increase in Tipperary Civil marriages since 2002.

The number of Civil marriages in County Tipperary has been increasing steadily in recent years.

Latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show there 173 Civil Marriages registered in the county in 2010 – this compares with just 52 such ceremonies in 2002.

115 of these were in South Tipperary while 58 were in North Tipp.

The total number of marriage ceremonies including Roman Catholic, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and other religious denominations conducted in County Tipperary in 2010 was 784, split almost equally between North and South.
