It's believed the weapons were destined for a revenge attack, after the gangland murder of Noel Duggan earlier this week.
Among the haul were two AK47 assault riffles, two handguns with silencers and 500 rounds of ammunition.

Journalist with the Herald and Irish Independent Conor Feehan says the weapons were being stockpiled as part of an ongoing fed between the Hutch and Kinihan families in Dublin.
