Three hospitalised following Carrick on Suir fire.

Two adults and a baby were hospitalised following a fire in Carrick on Suir.

Units from Carrick on Suir and Clonmel Fire Stations tackled the blaze on Main Street.

The alarm was raised shortly before 7.30 last evening – it's understood an item of clothing which was left too close to a heater caught fire.

The three were rescued from the top floor of the building at 100 Main Street and taken to South Tipperary General Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Emergency services left the scene at around 10 o'clock last night.
