The Fianna Fail representative says offices at Portroe, Ballina, Rearcross, Cloughjordan, Rathcabbin and Moyne in Thurles are earmarked for closure.

Other locations such as Borrisoleigh and Templemore will have their services reduced to once weekly.

These proposed closures are in addition to a number of other Community Welfare Offices which were closed earlier this year such as Toomevara, Riverstown, Ballingarry, Lorrha, Drombane and Littleton.

Councillor Carroll has called on the Labour & Fine Gael Oireachtas Members in Tipperary to stand up for the many vulnerable sectors in society which he says they have completely abandoned over the past three years with a legacy of broken promises.
