The 42 year old is reposing in St Flannan's Church in Killaloe until 8.30 this evening, ahead of his funeral mass tomorrow at 12 noon.
Those attending are being warned to expect delays in Ballina – Killaloe today and tomorrow.
A one way system is in place around Killaloe along the R463 with the junction of Killaloe Bridge, to Abbey St. Covent Hill, right onto Crossroads, Thomas St., Chapel Street, left onto New St. and back onto the main Scariff road.
Several junctions are closed – these include New Street / Main street junction, Thomas and Chapel Street, St Flannan's road and the main Killaloe square.
Traffic coming from the Ballina side can't go over the bridge – there is three Park'n'Ride locations on the Birdhill road and buses will bring people to Ballina where they can walk across to the Church in Killaloe
Only non-funeral local traffic will be permitted to cross the bridge all day today and tomorrow.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the funeral of the rugby hero – he is survived by his wife Olive, his two sons, his parents and two sisters along with a wide circle of family and friends.
