It's hoped that the highly successful “Taste of Roscrea” initiative can be reproduced at other locations across the Premier County.

The annual event in the North Tipp town is now in its 5th year and has gone from strength to strength with plans to make it even better this year.

Given the success of the Roscrea event there are plans to develop similar events in Cahir and Nenagh.

Councillor Michael Smith is one of the main organisers of the Taste of Roscrea which will now be rolled out in other areas of the Premier.

The Taste of Cahir will be held over the Easter weekend with the castle forming the backdrop to what's on offer.

Local Councillor Andy Moloney says while Roscrea will have snow this year Cahir will be focusing on ice.

A Taste of Nenagh is earmarked for next September and once again the towns' castle will form the centre piece of the festivities.

Councillor John Carroll says the Lower Ormond has a lot to offer

Now in its 5th year the Taste of Roscrea has grown thanks to the input of local food producers and the local community.

Michael Smith says this year will be bigger than ever.

Celebrity Wedding Planner “Franc” aka Peter Kelly is involved in this years event in Roscrea.

He says using the towns' historic castle creates a special magic for A Taste of Roscrea.
