to have been secured.

They have obtained funding from South Tipperary County Council and
Tipperary Town Council which will ensure the centre remains open
as the Flagship Arts and Cultural Centre for South Tipperary.

However the Excel Cinemas will be temporarily closed in the coming weeks.

This is to allow the management and board to look at the current cinema
offering in Tipperary Town and the feasibility of investing in new
digital cinema technology.

According to a statement from the Excel there may be some
redeployment of staff to other areas within the centre but some redundancies
will be unavoidable.
