The former Garda Station in a Tipperary village is getting a new lease of life.

Grangemockler Garda Station closed its doors almost 2 years ago in January 2013 as part of the overall review of garda services nationwide.

This also resulted in the closure of several other Tipperary stations including Dundrum, Rearcross, Terryglass and New Inn.

Local County Councillor Eddie O'Meara says the new project will be of benefit to many local families as it means they will not necessarily have to make two runs to the school to collect children at different times.
