Among the events featured are a horticultural show, food stalls, live music, and an art competition.
There will also be a large screen streaming Tipp’s All-Ireland Hurling semi-final against Kilkenny.
The sheaf tossing competition is making its return after a few years hiatus.
The Tánaiste will be at the show from 11 to 1 as well.
P-R-O for the show Victor Quinlan explains what people can expect to see today:
There’s a horticulture show, there’s home industries. We have something new this year which hasn’t been there for many years it’s called sheaf tossing, which is where people toss the sheaf over a bar that’s raised higher and higher. We have the donkey derby, which is on its 46th year now. We realize that we are actually clashing with the big Tipperary-Kilkenny match so we have a large outdoor screen where the match can be seen live.
