People living in areas around Cashel and Golden may notice a change in their public water supply over the coming days.
Due to the recent dry spell Irish Water are changing over from the current mountain supply in Rossadrehid to a local hard water source at Farnamanagh near Cashel.
Operations Lead for Tipperary with Irish Water Dwayne O’Brien says the change should only be for a week or ten days.
Meanwhile Irish Water has defended the way they informed customers in east Tipperary of a change to their supply.
€3 million was spent upgrading the Graigue and Templetney schemes in recent months.
However residents in the Ballyneale and Kilcash areas have complained about problems with the new hard water supply following the works.
They have also been critical of the way in which Irish Water engaged before, during and after the works.
Speaking on Tipp Today Dwayne O’Brien said they had made every effort to inform the public of the works.
