A 14-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital this lunchtime, following an assault in Tipperary town last night.
The young boy was found with serious head injuries, in the Lakelands area of the town in South Tipp at around 10.50 last night.
Inspector Paddy O’ Callaghan is appealing for witnesses to last night’s assault in Tipperary town to come forward.

The teenager was removed to South Tipperary General Hospital last night, where his condition is described as critical.
Another teenage boy – a juvenile – has been arrested in connection with the assault and is being held at Tipperary Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardai are now conducting door to door enquiries in the area, and Inspector Paddy O Callaghan is asking anyone who was in the area last night to come forward:
