Tipp firm in running for top innovation award

A Tipperary company is up for an award as one of the most innovative businesses in the county.

Thurles-based Utillix is on the shortlist for the Irish Times Innovation awards 2017.

There are seven categories in total and Utillix has been nominated in the Energy & the Environment category.

Set up in Australia by Tipp native Oliver Morrissey, it has been described as the ‘Google Maps of the underground’ to help construction workers avoid underground cables and utility pipes.

The winners will be announced at a high profile awards ceremony in early October in Dublin and will get prize worth ten-thousand Euro.
