TDs call for Government to plan for future of rural Post Offices

There are fears hundreds of post offices will close – unless action is taken.

A technical group of Rural TD's – including Tipperary Independents Michael Lowry and Mattie McGrath – is giving the Government three months to implement a new plan and to create a new community banking system.

They say Postmasters provide a vital service and that action is needed now to protect the rural way of life. 

Independent Kerry TD is Michael Healy Rae is also a member of the group.
