Members of the Tipperary based Action for Animal Welfare Ireland have taken their campaign to Leinster House today.
The group has been to the fore in highlighting the problem of animal cruelty – in particular with the horrific discovery of the remains of a number of horses in the Knocklofty area of South Tipp.
The voluntary group are planning a major rally for Dublin next month in a bid to bring their campaign to a national stage.
As a precursor to that members of the group are at Leinster House today to meet with a number of TDs, Senators and officials.
Joining them is Clonmel Sinn Féin representative Catherine Carey.

Action for Animal Welfare Ireland is organising a public rally in Dublin to highlight their campaign.
Large numbers are expected to attend the event on October 4th.
Councillor Carey says the call has gone out to get as much support as possible.
