Sir Keir Starmer has made history as the first British Prime Minister to visit the Republic of Ireland in five years.
According to Downing Street, this Saturday’s visit signifies a “new era of cooperation and friendship” between Britain and Ireland.
The prime minister met with Taoiseach Simon Harris, who assumed office in April, just three months before Starmer.
They were expected to discuss topics such as Northern Ireland, the relationship between Ireland and the UK and the war in Gaza during their bilateral meeting.
Their day in Dublin will culminate with the Republic of Ireland versus England football match at the Aviva Stadium.
